Privacy Policy

SCL Health, also known as Intermountain Health, values your privacy and works hard to safeguard your data. The Privacy Policy details how SCL Health collects, uses, protects, shares, and controls information about you related to your interaction with our sites and our app.

The Limited Ways We Use Your Information

For Android Users – Required Google Play Disclosures for Certain Health Apps

Google has determined our mobile apps are subject to their COVID-19 apps requirements. As a result, we are required to provide the following information so we can make our mobile apps available to you in the Play store.

Sharing Data

We will never sell your information. Your medical record may be shared with relevant care providers if medically necessary. The process for this is governed by HIPAA, for more information, see our Notice of Privacy Practices.

MyChart, our patient portal, allows you to share your own data with providers outside SCL Health, and with family members and others as you direct. You can also link your MyChart account with those from other healthcare organizations.

Cookies

We use cookies for the following purposes:

Email

We collect your personal email so that you can access your medical record, and to notify you when there is new medical information to be viewed on MyChart.

Please note that any person with access to your email will be able to see this notification. SCL Health does not send private medical information via email, however, the notification that new medical information is available by accessing MyChart may be information that you may not want others to know.

Please be aware that if you send us an email communication, it may be shared with the SCL Health staff that assists the physician in providing your medical care. Your confidential medical information on MyChart will be accessible only to appropriate clinical staff involved in your care.

Security and Confidentiality

We afford the same high degree of confidentiality to medical information stored on MyChart as is given to medical information stored by SCL Health in any other medium. SCL Health is committed to protecting the confidentiality of your medical information. We limit SCL Health employees' access and ability to enter or view information based upon their role in your care. Firewalls, passwords, encryption, and audit trails are further used to safeguard your information. We identify the records released and note the time and date of access each time a patient or proxy accesses MyChart. We have taken steps to protect all information received from our online visitors against unauthorized access and use.

For other than general information viewing, MyChart must be accessed with a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) compatible browser or terminal (Google Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Safari). Our SSL web server uses authentication to provide a high level of encryption technology security.

You can tell when you have a secure web connection by looking at the location (URL) field. If the URL begins with https:// (instead of http://), the document comes from a secure server. This means your data has been encrypted in order to protect it from access by unauthorized individuals. You can tell whether you are truly connected to SCL Health by viewing the digital certificate. This certificate verifies the connection between the SCL Health server's public key and the server's identification, ownership, and control.
